About

Carson Pete is currently a lecturer in the Mechanical Engineering at Northern Arizona University teaching courses related to engineering design, computer-aided design, and heat transfer. Carson is experienced in both academic and industrial settings. During his undergraduate and graduate degrees, he has interned with Sandia National Laboratories, Navajo Tribal Utility Authority, and worked with the National Renewable Energy Laboratories. Before coming to academia, Carson specialized in renewable energy design and energy efficiencies for residential and commercial systems and has worked with the Navajo Nation to develop renewable energy on the reservation. His current research interest is related to wind and renewable energy systems and the effects on the power grid system. Carson is currently an advisor for the American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES) and for the NAU’s high powered rocket club.
