MPPT control schemes have been widely applied in industry for more efficient power conversion and peak power extraction. This is usually done with a feedback control scheme using environmental sensors that collect data detrimental to power production within renewable energy production design. This is also the only location with our NPD hydroelectric conversion where control strategies have to be implemented. Some of the more common control strategies for PMSG are zero d-axis current control and maximum torque per ampere control. For hydroelectric to implement MPPT control methods flow sensors and water-level/head pressure sensors would be implemented at the turbine intakes to provide feedback to the power converters. In the future it would not be unforeseeable that the use of AI in predictive weather systems could be implemented for even further efficiency in renewable energy control and MPP extraction.
